Favorite Drake memory: I think I would be lying to myself if I didn’t say something about Ultimate. Last fall we took 5th place out of about 15 teams at a tournament in the middle of absolutely nowhere, somewhere in rural Indiana. If you aren’t familiar with Ultimate, it’s a 7v7 team sport, where you play about 7 hour and a half long games over Saturday and Sunday.

We only had 8 people, so we had very low expectations. We went down 7-0 to UW Oshkosh at half. They were really trying to get in our heads with some unsportsmanlike cheers and comments from the sideline. But we stayed strong and scored 15 unanswered points to win the game 15-7. The silence from their sideline was deafening. That night we all packed into the same hotel room and celebrated late into the night, then somehow woke up at 6:30 am the next day to do it all over again.

Tip for freshman: Grades are not the only thing that matters. And if you’re doing college right, they shouldn’t have to be the priority. Hit up West End on a Tuesday, spend time with your friends, join Ultimate ;), those extracurricular memories will have just as much of an impact as any class, often more of an impact.

Plans for after graduation: I’ve spent two years trying to figure out what exactly my two majors have prepared me for. Turns out Digital Marketing is that thing. I currently have an internship in Des Moines doing just that. I look to move to the west coast for a job similar.
